Let me start off by saying this is a superb beer.

It has an assertive but well balanced bitterness in the mouth, with hints of banana and pear and figs. It is deceptively smooth, given its strength.
"Rochefort 6" is the oldest Rochefort Trappist beer and was brewed empirically until the end of the Second World War. Rochefort 8 is met 9,2% alcohol een flinke pater. Trappistes Rochefort 8. Country: Belgium.
Created in 1955, Rochefort 8 is the most recent addition to Rochefort line-up and today is the version of the beers in largest production. Style: Belgian Strong Dark Ale. Yellowish-brown in colour, with more fruits in the aroma and a slight amount of Demi-Sec. Cookie Notice.

It has a strong malt taste and is slightly bitter.

It however suffers the unfortunate fate of being the second Trappistes Rochefort beer I’ve consumed – see my previous review on the Rochefort 10.With that said, any beer that has to suffer through having such a stud of a big brother can’t help but pale a bit in comparison.
