While at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, about 30 per cent of the silver and bronze medals came from recycled materials, at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, 100 per cent of the gold, silver and bronze medals (5,000 medals in total) will be created from recycled electronic waste.
